- local foods: one thing we can do now to address environmental and energy problems is grow and eat our own food, or at least buy from the people near us who are growing veggies and raising chickens, goats, pigs and cows.

- climate change: as the world warms up, the complex climate mechanisms get thrown out of whack. Not good news since we kind of depend on things being stable. What can we do? Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and educate ourselves about the impacts of our lifestyles.
